What Kalinga Means to Us

A name that sets a high standard, and the people who carry it.

An active word for an active kind of care

We chose the name Kalinga because it carries a spirit of care and service deeply rooted in the Philippines, where our advocates are based. It’s a noun, but an active one. English requires several words to describe what Kalinga holds. In a Filipino household, the word carries a sense of duty. It encompasses an obligation to act with compassion and attentiveness. Filipinos have a companion word: malasakit, in which the provider invests themselves in the relationship. This cultural emphasis on the care of others is part of why the Philippines is the world’s largest exporter of trained nurses. You may have met one or two. YourKalinga remote advocates embody that same malasakit.

Founder

Lee Frankl

YourKalinga is operated by PHSource LLC, a Florida company founded by Lee Frankl in 2025. Marrying into a Filipino family four years ago has been a cultural awakening for Lee, and a lesson in Kalinga ever since. That lesson has deepened over several extended visits to the Philippines. It’s been his dream to build a business that bridges the Philippines and the U.S., since his heart is now in both.

Lee brings over twenty years of leadership roles at various companies and nonprofits to YourKalinga. More importantly, he brings a lifetime of experience as the son of two loving parents, with a sister, niece, and nephew to match. YourKalinga is Lee’s most engaging job yet, because it directly serves families like his. A native of New England, Lee now lives with his balikbayan (Filipino transplant) husband, Dan Anthony, in Fort Lauderdale.

Built in the spirit of Filipino hospitality.
